Lilybelle

Well she is here. Getting Lily here was quite a process. It's a long story so the short telling is this...went in at 7pm on Monday Oct 12 to be induced...She was born Tuesday Oct 13 at 7:20pm....after 4-1/2 hours of pushing!!! She was a stinker! She had a couple problems after but was doing fine by 10pm that night. She was 7 lbs 2 oz and that was 3 weeks early!

I was asked by a friend if it was as bad as I thought it would be and my answer was "yes!". The contractions were painful, and the night nurse didn't understand me when I said "I think I'm ready for my epidural." So I waited for 30 painful minutes. The epidural process freaked me out and JP's hands and arms will never be the same from my squeezing them to death. They had to use forceps and then her shoulders wouldn't follow so the nurse had to push my tummy to get her out. I don't think she liked coming 3 weeks early.

I'm not proud and will admit I've had a few meltdowns. The sleep deprivation is hard and I really have no idea what I am doing. She had jaundice and had to sleep on a Billibed. It was a long 3 days but she is good now.

I can't believe she is 5 weeks old! It seems so long and yet so short an amount of time. She actually is a very content baby. We have been lucky. But she likes to make noises when she is sleeping and kept waking JP and I up so last week we had to move her into her room. It has been a lot better.

Some other thoughts...no one tells you really how bad the recover process is...I know now how wonderful a beday is...most days I don't get dressed...I've watched so much t.v. I know all the commercials now...I went 4 days without showering this week...if I have to choose between eating and sleep, sleep wins out every time...for the first 3 weeks, my adventure for the day was walking to the mailbox...I've never felt so stir crazy...I learned to not have eggs, fish, dairy, and nuts in one meal (she really had a horrible night after).

JP and I have been told by others (we are not being prejudice) that she is a beautiful baby. We agree, of course, but are relieved since we felt a lot of pressure before she was born with everyone saying she will be such a cute baby being half Asian.

OH and if you noticed I went 29 hours without eating. My last meal was at 5pm Monday night and I didn't eat until 10 pm Tuesday night. I was able to drink water and apple juice because my sugars were low but that was it!!! for 29 hours!

There was so much more involved and experienced but this is the short run down. It was and is an unbelievable event in our lives. She was completely worth it!!!

I am so bored...

I am so bored...I am on bed rest until Monday. Then it's off to the hospital to start the inducement process. My blood pressure has been a little high the last few weeks. It's not too bad but still. I had to be observed last Monday overnight at the hospital. It was not fun. The nurse blew my vein during the first attempt at putting an I.V. in. It was the worse pain I've felt. I guess it was to help me prepare for the labor process. But my doctor said I can get an epidural the minute I want one. I love my doctor.

I Told You So!

I told you so. I am a HORRIBLE blogger. Life is so crazy. This is also why I don't scrapbook.

I just realized that I haven't really written anything about my pregnancy. I am a horrible mother already. My child will ask me questions in the future and I won't remember anything. I have the worst prego-brain. But I am hoping to turn a new leaf. I am not a real sentimental person but decided I should try for the sake of my child. I am going to make a rag quilt for her! I have all the stuff but just need to start. I just have a ton of other projects that need to get finished before she comes is the problem. My visiting teachers (former and current) laugh at my mismatched living room drapes. I started making them when JP and I started dating in July 2007 and haven't gotten back to them. Needless to say I have one white and one green one. What's funny...not many people notice.

I also was going to post some of our wedding pictures but haven't gotten to that either. But tomorrow is another day!

Side thought: I have heard so many horror stories of birthing that I have decided not to give birth. I am going to come up with a way in the next 4 weeks where I don't have to do any of that. Wish me luck! :)

Second side thought: At my last ultrasound, the doctor printed out a 4-d picture of our baby. It was soooo FREAKY! I didn't think it was cute at all. See! I am terrible!

A year goes by so fast!

So JP and I celebrated our one year anniversary on June 27th. We were married on June 28th. We decided to start our day by going to the Salt Lake temple, where we were married, and doing sealings. It was a great and new experience.

We were in a group of one other couple and 3 other men. It was a great reminder of the covenants and promises we have made to each other. It was kind of awkward though when they had me also do the proxy sealings with another man (he was old and married). I didn't look at him the whole time. It would have been too weird.

We then headed over to The Roof restaurant. JP wasn't sure he ate enough food to make it worthwhile. He is always the frugal one. I thought we did since we sampled/ate 8 desserts. I loved the creme brulee!!!! I had two!

Then it was off for a ride. We headed up to Ensign Peak and took in the scenic valley. That is where JP proposed. It was a fun time of reminiscing.

This year really has been great. It has gone by so fast!

My "always finding great music" friend Tara had this on her blog. I think this is a great song so I thought I'd share...

It's Raining....It's Pouring....

I just have to say something about how sweet JP is. He knows I LOVE..LOVE the rain. There is something renewing about it for me. I can't get enough of breathing in the air. Anyway, last week and weekend when it was raining so much, he suggested we go for a walk in the pouring rain! It was kind of chilly, the sun was gone, and he gets cold easily but it was so sweet! We got out our big golf umbrella and crocs and headed out. It was so peaceful. No one was out. (which he pointed out a couple times..haha)

It completely made my day!!

Can I Quote You On That?

I have the cutest little niece Lucy! She is such a hoot! She says the funniest things. She just turned five.

In Primary they were asking the kids what they knew about mothers. Lucy raised her hand and when called upon said, "I know something about mothers." The leader asked her what she knew and she said, "I have a brother from another mother." All with attitude. My sister in law said they figured out she heard that from the movie "The RM." It was so funny. Especially if you knew Lucy.

Another funny is, her neighbor was asking her if she wanted to go with her to pick up the kids. Lucy thought for a second and then said, "I don't think so. That would just be a waste of my time." She is sooo funny!

Here's an update....

So I am a lame blogger. I warned you all. But to make up for it (and especially to not be deleted from someone's "friends list" again - TARA!) I am updating some happenings in our lives.

Thanksgiving was fattening. Christmas was fattening. New Years was fattening. Valentine's was fattening. I think that says it all.

I have gained 15 lbs since getting married. I think JP is close to that too. I don't care what people say about it being "in love"or "happiness" weight...blah blah blah...I hate not being able to wear any of my clothes. We bought a treadmill for Christmas. I've been on it a few times. I'm hoping it will help.

On another note: I am on the committee again this year for the Make-A-Wish Foundation fundraiser gala. It is Saturday March 28. We are looking for items to be donated to the silent auction. If anyone is interested in donating items, please let me know. It can be anything really. Also, they are offering a chance to win a 14kt white gold diamond bracelet. You can buy a ticket without having to go to the event. They are $10 or 3 tickets for $25. Here's the link. Make-A-Wish You don't have to be present to win.

I am still trying to post some pictures from the wedding but I can't figure out how to do a slide show. I will try to figure it out. I think I can rope Martha into helping me! LOL

Oh and for those who want to know, I don't have a brain tumor! Just fuzzy eye-nerves. I am a puzzle. They can't figure out why I have them. I guess I'm just special.
