Well she is here. Getting Lily here was quite a process. It's a long story so the short telling is this...went in at 7pm on Monday Oct 12 to be induced...She was born Tuesday Oct 13 at 7:20pm....after 4-1/2 hours of pushing!!! She was a stinker! She had a couple problems after but was doing fine by 10pm that night. She was 7 lbs 2 oz and that was 3 weeks early!
I was asked by a friend if it was as bad as I thought it would be and my answer was "yes!". The contractions were painful, and the night nurse didn't understand me when I said "I think I'm ready for my epidural." So I waited for 30 painful minutes. The epidural process freaked me out and JP's hands and arms will never be the same from my squeezing them to death. They had to use forceps and then her shoulders wouldn't follow so the nurse had to push my tummy to get her out. I don't think she liked coming 3 weeks early.
I'm not proud and will admit I've had a few meltdowns. The sleep deprivation is hard and I really have no idea what I am doing. She had jaundice and had to sleep on a Billibed. It was a long 3 days but she is good now.
I can't believe she is 5 weeks old! It seems so long and yet so short an amount of time. She actually is a very content baby. We have been lucky. But she likes to make noises when she is sleeping and kept waking JP and I up so last week we had to move her into her room. It has been a lot better.
Some other thoughts...no one tells you really how bad the recover process is...I know now how wonderful a beday is...most days I don't get dressed...I've watched so much t.v. I know all the commercials now...I went 4 days without showering this week...if I have to choose between eating and sleep, sleep wins out every time...for the first 3 weeks, my adventure for the day was walking to the mailbox...I've never felt so stir crazy...I learned to not have eggs, fish, dairy, and nuts in one meal (she really had a horrible night after).
JP and I have been told by others (we are not being prejudice) that she is a beautiful baby. We agree, of course, but are relieved since we felt a lot of pressure before she was born with everyone saying she will be such a cute baby being half Asian.
OH and if you noticed I went 29 hours without eating. My last meal was at 5pm Monday night and I didn't eat until 10 pm Tuesday night. I was able to drink water and apple juice because my sugars were low but that was it!!! for 29 hours!
There was so much more involved and experienced but this is the short run down. It was and is an unbelievable event in our lives. She was completely worth it!!!

I have been waiting for pictures, she is beautiful. Congrats on the little one, great job on hanging in there so long with her. I pushed for 2 and half hours and thought that was excessive. I would love to come see you both in a few weeks.
Well, you lived to tell the tale! You are wonder woman and we are hoping that our delivery story will be mundane compared to yours! Jordan and I were ones that have said it, and will continue to say it, Lily is a gorgeous baby!
After waiting and waiting for an update I finally get one. Whoo hoo! First of all, she is lovely. Absolutely adorable. If you ever want to get out of the house, bring her by Make-A-Wish. We would love to meet her.
Sorry that it was such a long and difficult process. Good luck!
hooray for Lilybelle! what an adorable little neighbor she is!
She is beautiful! We still need to see her!
Congratulations! I love the thought of you as a mom. That's quite a delivery story you will always have to tell. One of these days we really do need to get together--I'd love to hold your sweet baby girl!
